By early 2025, countries are due to unveil new national climate commitments, known as nationally determined contributions (NDCs), that outline actions countries will take through 2035. The Paris Agreement requires each round of plans to be stronger than the last, offering a powerful tool to collectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions and keep global climate goals within reach.
Today, World Resources Institute launched the NDC Tracker on our data platform. This tool makes it easy to track which countries have submitted NDCs, compare them with previous NDCs and review countries’ submissions side by side.
Two countries have recently submitted updated commitments — Brazil and the United Arab Emirates. Many more NDCs are expected by February 2025. As countries submit their next NDC submissions, be sure to refer to this tool for a quick and easy way to analyze new submissions.
This resource tracks whether the NDC submission includes:
2030 and 2035 emission reduction targets
Economy-wide GHG targets
Adaptation commitments
